You are responsible to follow up on all of your applications<\/em><\/strong>. At a presentation being made at a pre-planning seminar for funeral arrangements there was a section about benefits available to veterans. One of the attendees commented that he was receiving healthcare from the VA but had never received disability benefits (monthly check). Five years before a Veterans Service Officer had helped him obtain the medical benefits and he hadn\u2019t heard back regarding his disability claim. He said that he didn\u2019t want to bother them<\/em><\/strong>! It is their job to help you and it is your job to follow up<\/em><\/strong> with them regularly until you are satisfied with what you are receiving from the VA. Every veteran needs to stay on top of their claims.
